Last week, Dr. Ricardo Lopez, OB/GYN, Orlando Health Physician Associates appeared live on FOX 35 Good Day Orlando to discuss postnatal depletion and a new study that claimed that a woman’s brain shrinks 5% while she’s pregnant and can lead to consequences for 10 years after giving birth. Dr. Lopez discussed the truth about postnatal depletion, if mommy brain is a real thing and what women can do recover more quickly from the impact of pregnancy on their bodies.

An Orlando Health Physician Associates quality improvement project to increase HPV immunization rates is now receiving national media attention. A few weeks ago, an Op/Ed column by Dr. Alix Casler, Medical Director, Pediatrics appeared in the local publication Florida Today. Now, Dr. Casler’s Op/Ed has gone national and has been published in Live Science’s Expert Voices: Op/Ed and Insights section. In the Op/Ed column Dr. Casler speaks to the importance of the HPV vaccine, the truth about the Human Papillomavirus and why parents and teens need to strongly consider this vaccination. In September of 2013, Orlando Health Physician Associates began a multi-pronged quality improvement project aimed at increasing HPV immunization rates in its pediatric practices. The results were impressive. As of 2015, patients ages 11 to 12 who had at least one dose of the HPV vaccine increased from 20% to more than 50%, with some practices exceeding a 70% immunization rate. Dr. Ricardo Lopez, OB/GYN, OH Orlando Health Physician Associates appeared recently in a LIVE interview on FOX 35 Good Day Orlando discussing a new study that looked at the impact on mothers who have children close together in age. Dr. Lopez explained the new study that examined the health implications that mothers can face depending on how close in age they have their children.

The Lake Nona offices of Orlando Health Physician Associates are now open offering pediatric, family medicine and OB/GYN services. The expansion of OH Orlando Health Physician Associates and the close proximity of the new offices to Medical City is generating media attention. This week Dennis Buhring, President, OH Orlando Health Physician Associates was interviewed by WMFE 90.7FM, Orlando’s NPR radio station about the expansion into Lake Nona, the reasoning for moving closer to the Medical City area and future growth of OH Orlando Health Physician Associates. Dennis’ interview aired multiple times on WMFE’s local news broadcasts throughout Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
